Translation

So, I poked around the game files a bit. Anyone interested in a translation of stuff from Chinese to English based on the MY-EN stuff? If so, I could goof around with the files and provide something. I've figured out that to change the interface to English (although it might not completely work), is to copy the interfaces.pck in the element folder over.

The rest of the text is in configs.pck, but I probably will have to modify it by hand. But at least for me, I get annoyed by the PM system. "RanYakumo speaks secretly to you: blah" "You speaks secretly to RanYakumo: blah" so I'll probably clean that up a bit.

If there's interest, I'd consider offering a translation pack. Also, I might do some editing to the extreme interface as well. If some text really bothers you and you wish it were changed, I probably can do something to fix that, but I'm definitely fixing the PM system.

Instead of "<name> speaks secretly to you: blah", maybe you could make it something simple like "<name> (TO): blah"

It used to be "<name> says:" and "You say:" (without who you're saying it to o_O). That's beside the point, though. :P
It's just where I got the idea from.
If you do it, I bet Damodar would add it to the patch list. :D

So I was thinking of doing Lineage 2 convention (which is also used on the PW-Evolution server:

Receiving pm would be:
RanYakumo:

Takes up less sapce.

I also decided I'll change the damage text:

OLD:
You are causing RanYakumo for 100 points of damage
RanYakumo are causing you 100 points of damage

NEW:
You deal RanYakumo 100 damage
RanYakumo deals 100 damage

It'll be a direct copy and paste. The text is all in the configs.pck and interface.pck. I'll probably post those somewhere (any suggestions?). I'm first going to test out my fixes (whisper, and damage, and Haze-Gold -> X-Gold) on the Extreme server once it goes up. Then I might wait a week to release translations for the Chinese servers, since they are very volitile and stuff changes a lot. You can always try to copy the pck files over directly, but I can't guarantee results. Just remember copying configs.pck over changes the announcement screen.

Technical details of the process below:
i unpack the pck files. Edit the text in the files that come out. And repack it. (Like unzipping and zipping). I'll post the repack here. These files aren't big. I'm not like posting models or the guild emblems.

I did make my whole client in english except the item mall which was seen as chinese but when you hover your mouse on the item it shown in english.

Item mall is in element\data\gshop.data. Pain to take care of.

The text mostly works, but you lose out on a few new things with added text (such as how many dyes each fashion takes).

yea i did copy that gshop files taht make wat u see in chinese but u need to hover mouse to check it in english

without the gshop from chinese u cant open the item mall
